Front Mudguard
_ I have run this guard on the front wheel for two years
without any issues. The rear part of the guard
is cabled tied at two locations, the lower around the rim brake mounting
bolt, using the holes provided, and the second three or four inches higher,
where I drilled two holes to accept the cable tie, which pulls the guard to the
smaller radius. Two modified mounting guard stays attach to the forks, inside
the chain run, on both sides of the front wheel.
_Two modified mounting guard stays attach to the forks, inside
the chain run, on both sides of the front wheel. Modification of the stays consisted of sawing off the lower couple of inches of each stay using a hack saw, and drilling and tapping a 2mm threaded hole into the shortened guard stay. This now accepts the stay mounting foot, but now at right angles to the stay as can be seen below. A small self tapping screw could be used as an alternative.
_This modification allows the stay to run between the wheel
and chain on the drive side. Symmetry is
maintained by doing this modification to both stays so the mud guards don’t
drag on the wheel.
