Sportives
Sportive events have become very popular over the last few years. They often attract hundreds of cyclists and we have always been made welcome at them. Many sportives now have several different lengths of ride on the same day which means that experienced handcyclists can face a real challenge of distance and speed.
Over the last few years we have had a good presence at The New Forest Rattler in August and The Cumberland Challenge in September. Four members have also completed the gruelling Fred Whitton Challenge in May. Other sportives which have had a handcycle presence are Ruthin in Wales, the Trossachs Ton in Scotland and several of the Evans Ride It events.
Other popular events are Pedal for Scotland, London to Brighton and Manchester to Blackpool. These events are linear rides and it is likely that you will have to arrange your own transport for the return journey.
Details of upcoming sportives will be posted on the events page. If you are intending entering an event which is not listed please leave a message on the forum or contact us.
