Why handcycle?
There are many reasons why you should consider handcycling and we have listed those that we can think of below:

- Unlike wheelchair propulsion, few overuse injuries are experienced in handcycling;
- You will quickly be able to achieve impressive distances at high speeds;
- It will provide you with a very good workout;
- It’s a very constructive way to vent anger and frustration;
- It will promote restfulness and establish a regular sleep pattern;
- It is an effective way to develop cardiovascular fitness;
- It’s also been suggested that regular physical activity helps with mental well-being;
- It will help you to expend many calories and manage your weight;
- The seated position is very sociable;
- You can enjoy riding on your own or with others;
- A reclined position enables you to enjoy your surroundings - even at high speeds;
- It facilitates inclusion and integration in a competitive or recreational environment;
- It allows to become involved in activities with other disabled and non-disabled family and friends;
- It will help you build self confidence, self esteem and self determination;
- It will lead to more independence;
